Then I'll
Change my look to butterscotch,
to russet, roan, and apricot;
And tie a chequered ascot shot
with gold and auburn thread;
I'll wear a terra-cotta tan;
and carrottopped and gingery
A toasted almond manI'll be
in ocher in my head.
Not brown, but burnt sienna suede
my winter coat, the warm-up kind
Not down, but plainly made and lined
with ironrust instead;
And I'll not come too close to red,
but stay the orange side and think
that once I read Pink
Beauty in her blushing cheek
and now she's dead.
