Back in the
Twentieth Century
(before all this purple argon light),
When incandescence lit the dark
And carriages were in the park,
Randy Newman in his prime,
Stanley Kubrick still alive—
That brilliant time
When Culture thrived
And birds still flew free
in the streets of New York
